J-Hope of BTS Releases New Single 'Sweet Dreams' Featuring Miguel

On March 7 at 2 PM KST, J-Hope of BTS (방탄소년단) unveiled his digital single 'Sweet Dreams (feat. Miguel)' along with its music video. This heartfelt serenade expresses a desire to love and be loved, with J-Hope likening the feeling of falling in love to sweet dreams.
The new track falls under the Pop R&B genre, featuring dreamy synthesizers, refreshing guitar strums, and light yet smooth vocal riffs that sonically convey the emotions of love. J-Hope played a significant role in shaping the song's message and overall direction, enhancing its quality. The collaboration with R&B icon Miguel adds a harmonious touch, as he is known for winning a Grammy Award for 'Best R&B Song' with his hit 'Adorn' and has received a total of 13 nominations.
J-Hope recently kicked off his first solo world tour, 'j-hope Tour 'HOPE ON THE STAGE' in SEOUL,' from February 28 to March 2 at the KSPO DOME in Songpa-gu, Seoul. During this concert, he surprised fans by previewing 'Sweet Dreams (feat. Miguel),' which received an explosive response from the audience.
In a recent Q&A session with his agency Big Hit Music, J-Hope shared his thoughts on various topics related to his new release.
**Q: How do you feel about your first comeback after your military service?**
A: I’m really excited to share new music after such a long time. I wanted to present my music to fans as soon as possible. I feel a mix of excitement and nervousness, and I hope everyone enjoys the work that I’ve put a lot of thought into.
**Q: What was your impression when you first heard the song?**
A: I was certain that this song was meant for me as soon as I heard it. Usually, when I listen to a good song, I can visualize various concepts, but this one painted a very clear picture for me. I hope my confidence and belief in this song are justified (laughs). I truly love this song and hope that my sincerity comes through to everyone.
**Q: Can you share some behind-the-scenes details about the production process?**
A: This was my first time doing a songwriting camp, and I found that it suited me well, making the process enjoyable. While in Los Angeles, I created a lot of songs, and I’m eager to share them with fans. Each song has its own unique color, and I’m curious to see which genre suits me best and how listeners will perceive them.
**Q: What do you want people to know about this song?**
A: While I can’t define what popular music is, this new song started from my desire to create music that resonates with the public. Music is a way for artists to express themselves, but ultimately, the listener's perspective is the most important. This time, I focused more on the process rather than just the final product. The songwriting camp in Los Angeles was part of that process. I believe that all the promotions and my approach to executing them will be part of my learning experience. It would mean a lot to me if listeners recognized the effort I put into this (laughs).
**Q: What was it like collaborating with Miguel?**
A: I suggested the collaboration, and I was thrilled that he accepted it positively, even though we didn’t know each other personally (laughs). I’ve listened to his music since I was young, so it was a joy to work with him. I think his deep voice and authenticity blend well with the song, and I’m happy with the outcome.
**Q: The event in Paris in January was a big hit. Any behind-the-scenes stories?**
A: I was very focused on this performance since it was before my solo concert. Many ARMY fans came, which inspired me and helped with my concert preparations. I felt the energy from fans in Paris, and I want to return to show an even better performance. Hearing only the voices of ARMY through my in-ear monitors was touching. BTS power is real. ARMY is the best (laughs).
**Q: Any message for the fans who have waited a long time?**
A: Thank you for waiting so long! The music 'Sweet Dreams (feat. Miguel)' is finally out for everyone to enjoy. It’s a heartfelt song, and I wanted to share it with as many people as possible. You know how I feel, right? Enjoy it, and I love our ARMY who always supports my sweet dreams. This first half of the year is going to be diverse and exciting. I’ll be responsible for cute, funky, and sexy performances and will return with something amazing (laughs).
J-Hope will hold an offline fan event titled 'Sweet Dreamland' at 1 PM on the same day, sharing the moment of the song's release with fans. In celebration of BTS's debut anniversary on June 13, 613 fans will be invited to the event, and for those who cannot attend, a live stream will be available on the global superfan platform Weverse.
