Jeon So-min Becomes a Married Woman and Mother of a 5-Year-Old in New Drama

On December 5, KBS Joy premiered its new drama 'Today, I Apologize' (오늘도 지송합니다), featuring Jeon So-min in the lead role. The series follows the tumultuous life of Ji-song (played by Jeon So-min), a woman who suddenly finds herself single after a broken engagement and struggles to manage her life in a new city while dealing with the pressures of a mortgage.
In the first episode, Ji-song returns to Korea from the U.S. and reunites with her younger sister, Eun-kyu (played by Joo Ah-reum), who is a single mother to a son named Jay. Eun-kyu, who has never been married, has returned to Korea without informing their parents and begins living with Ji-song.
The next morning, Ji-song takes on the responsibility of dropping Jay off at kindergarten in place of Eun-kyu. At the kindergarten, rumors about Jay, who has just moved from New York, start to circulate. After finishing her part-time job at a café, Ji-song goes to pick up Jay, and the other parents begin to gossip about her being Jay's mother.
However, Ji-song is actually working as a delivery person. During one of her deliveries to a high-end apartment, she unexpectedly encounters her former close friend, Choi Ha-na (played by Gong Min-jeong), whom she had cut ties with. Feeling embarrassed, Ji-song quickly leaves the scene. Later that night, Eun-kyu offers to help Ji-song with living expenses and mortgage payments in exchange for her looking after Jay, marking the beginning of Ji-song's new 'parenting life.'
When Ji-song meets Ha-na again at the kindergarten, Jay calls her 'Mom,' leaving Ji-song with no chance to clarify her role as 'aunt.' Consequently, she becomes known among the other mothers as 'Jay's mom.'
The backstory of Ji-song's broken engagement is also revealed. She had decided to move into a newlywed home for her husband, who was working at a large corporation, after quitting her job. However, she caught her boyfriend cheating with his ex-girlfriend, which led her to seek advice from divorce lawyer Cha Hyun-woo (played by Choi Daniel). Hyun-woo bluntly tells her that since they had filed for marriage and taken out a loan, he believes there was still an intention to marry. Ji-song, frustrated by his lack of empathy, expresses her feelings of betrayal and hurt.
Now, with her wedding just 58 days away, Ji-song finds herself in a legal limbo as she is technically divorced but socially single. She is also under pressure from her mortgage payments. The situation escalates when she encounters her ex-boyfriend, who is now her upstairs neighbor, leading to a comedic yet chaotic moment as she deals with a plumbing issue in her apartment.
