Jeon Min-ki and Jeong Mi-nyeo Compare Their Marriage to Hell

On the December 16 episode of SBS's 'Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 - You Are My Destiny' (동상이몽2-너는 내 운명), the couple Jeon Min-ki (전민기) and Jeong Mi-nyeo (정미녀) shared their struggles during their newlywed life, likening their marriage to a hellish experience.
During the broadcast, Jeon Min-ki humorously commented on their son’s looks and intelligence, saying, 'He’s handsome like me but not as smart because he takes after his mother.' This remark led Jeong Mi-nyeo to tear up after the recording, reminding him not to say such things about her intelligence. Jeon Min-ki dismissed her tears, claiming he was just joking.
In a candid interview with the production team, Jeong Mi-nyeo revealed that their relationship had been rocky since their dating days, stating, 'We even considered breaking up a week before the wedding.' She expressed her doubts about their compatibility, saying, 'I felt I couldn’t continue dating him, but since he was older, marriage was always on the table.'
Jeon Min-ki recounted how his father had asked about his girlfriend, and at that time, he was dating Mi-nyeo. His father was very fond of her after meeting. Jeong Mi-nyeo added that they didn’t take the lead in their relationship, which led to uncertainty during their wedding preparations. 'I didn’t want to rush into marriage, and we had a serious discussion about whether we should break up just a week before the wedding,' she said.
She also shared a touching moment when their parents encouraged them, saying, 'My parents held my hand and told me to trust them.' Jeon Min-ki reflected, 'If they hadn’t come, it could have been a disaster.'
The couple shocked viewers by revealing that during their honeymoon, they slept in separate twin beds and had no physical intimacy. Jeon Min-ki insisted, 'It’s true; we had zero physical contact.' This revelation prompted fellow cast member Lee Ji-hye to quip, 'This could be grounds for divorce.'
Jeon Min-ki explained their exhausting honeymoon trip to Nice, which took 24 hours, leaving them too tired to enjoy their time together. 'We were so drained from sightseeing that we barely had time to rest,' he said.
Ultimately, Jeon Min-ki admitted, 'Honestly, it felt like our marriage was close to hell. Being with someone who doesn’t seem to like you for 24 hours is tough.' Jeong Mi-nyeo added, 'For two or three years, I felt hurt, angry, and sad, wondering if I was unlovable.'
