Jeon Hyun-moo Reveals Truth Behind His 10,000-Fold Salary Increase
Former KBS announcer and current MC Jeon Hyun-moo is set to clarify the truth behind his claim of a 10,000-fold salary increase since becoming a freelancer. In the upcoming episode of KBS 2TV's variety show 'Boss's Ears Are Donkey Ears' airing on December 15 at 4:40 PM, junior announcer Kim Jin-woong, who looks up to Jeon, will discuss current announcer fees and question Jeon about his dramatic salary rise. Previously, Jeon had stated in another program that his income is 'more than 10,000 times' that of his announcer salary, drawing significant public interest. However, Jeon admitted, 'I’m not exactly sure if it’s 10,000 times or how many times it is. The comparison between my announcer salary and my current income is not even possible, and I pay a lot more in taxes now.' When asked if he encourages juniors to pursue freelancing, Jeon shared, 'Becoming a freelancer was not an easy choice for me either. I actively recommend freelancing to those around me because it allows them to showcase their abilities in the positions they desire.' Jeon also expressed pride in his diction, stating, 'There’s no one in the entertainment industry with diction as good as mine. While there are many who are entertaining and good at hosting, none can match the precise diction of a former announcer.' Industry estimates suggest that Jeon Hyun-moo's annual income, including fees from appearances, advertisements, and events, could range from 3 billion to 4 billion KRW, a figure that is likely higher now than a few years ago.
