Jeju Air CEO Banned from Leaving Country Amid Ongoing Investigation
In connection with the tragic incident involving Jeju Air at Muan International Airport in Jeollanam-do, the police have placed a travel ban on Kim I-bae, the CEO of Jeju Air, along with two other company officials. The Jeollanam-do Provincial Police Agency announced on January 2 that the travel restrictions were implemented on December 31, as they consider Kim a key witness in their investigation into charges of negligent homicide. Earlier that day, police conducted searches at three locations, including the office responsible for Muan Airport, Jeju Air's Seoul office, and the Busan Regional Aviation Administration's Muan branch. The police plan to analyze the seized materials to identify those responsible for the Jeju Air incident.
