Jazz Pianist Go Hee-an to Hold Solo Concert in Seoul
Jazz pianist Go Hee-an is set to perform a solo piano concert on March 8 at 11:30 AM at the Lotte Concert Hall in Jamsil, Songpa-gu, Seoul. The concert promises to showcase an optimal acoustic sound and resonance of the venue. Following the performance, Go will engage with the audience during a signing event.
Go Hee-an expressed his intention to recreate the emotional experience from his solo concert at the Culture Storage T1 Pavilion on November 26, 2023, which took place under challenging conditions due to a heating malfunction. He shared, "I had to overcome the biting cold that made my fingers feel stiff, channeling all my energy into the performance. The melodies inspired by the themes of 'clouds' and 'cloud observation' were crafted to resonate beautifully in the chilly air, creating an ideal texture and echoing sound. Just like Keith Jarrett's Köln Concert, sometimes imperfect conditions can lead to the best performances."
While studying engineering at Korea University, Go was introduced to jazz and was awarded a scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston at the age of 25. He later pursued a master's degree at New York University and formed the jazz band Prelude. Since releasing his debut album 'Croissant' in 2005, he has produced seven studio albums, one Christmas album, and four folk collaboration albums under the Prelude name. Additionally, he has led the Go Hee-an Trio, releasing six albums and continuing to perform since 2009. He is also the author of 'Beyond Czerny 30: Jazz Piano'.
