Japanese Woman Charged After Kissing BTS's Jin at Fan Event

A Japanese woman in her 50s, referred to as A, has been charged and sent to prosecutors after unexpectedly kissing Jin (진) of BTS (방탄소년단) during a fan event. The incident occurred last June at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul, where Jin was celebrating his military discharge. In front of approximately 1,000 fans, A suddenly kissed Jin on the cheek, leaving him visibly startled. Following the incident, fans filed complaints demanding action against A.
The police received reports through the National Petition System and began an investigation, which included confirming a blog post from Japan that detailed the incident, stating, 'My lips touched Jin's neck. His skin was soft.' To identify the suspect, the police requested international cooperation from Interpol, leading to A being identified seven months later.
After being summoned by the police, A was initially untraceable due to being abroad, resulting in a temporary halt to the investigation. However, she voluntarily returned to South Korea and reported to the police, allowing the investigation to resume. Meanwhile, another individual, referred to as B, who is also accused of harassing Jin, remains unlocated, and the investigation into B is still on hold.
Jin is set to release his second solo album, 'ECHO' (에코), on May 16.
