Jang Yoon-jung Opens Up About Her Painful Family History

On March 28, singer Jang Yoon-jung shared her heartfelt family story during a consultation session with subscribers on her YouTube channel, 'DoJang TV.'
During the session, she addressed a subscriber's dilemma regarding the economic disparity between her boyfriend's family and her own as they approach marriage. While the couple shares similar values regarding marriage and parenting, the subscriber expressed feelings of inadequacy due to her boyfriend's parents being financially secure, in contrast to her own situation of being from a divorced family with her mother alone and no income.
Jang Yoon-jung empathized, stating, "It was noisy inside me. I felt small whenever family discussions arose. If you enter marriage with such feelings, even if your partner doesn't intend to hurt you, you can end up feeling hurt alone. You want comfort without showing it. It's a struggle you face by yourself. If my son, Yeon-woo, were to meet a woman with similar feelings, I would teach him to put in a lot of effort. There are wounds that love alone cannot heal. In such cases, the husband must constantly care for his wife, which can be exhausting."
She continued, "Once you get married, you start to have expectations of your partner, and that can lead to pain. It's important to communicate that you feel disappointed and to lower your standards a bit when making decisions."
Co-host Do Kyung-wan supported the subscriber, noting that her boyfriend has never hurt her, to which Jang Yoon-jung responded, "I felt the same way."
Do Kyung-wan also advised that the boyfriend should manage the dynamics between his parents and his girlfriend, filtering out the negatives and highlighting the positives.
Jang Yoon-jung has previously faced conflicts with her mother. In 2015, during an episode of SBS's 'Healing Camp,' she revealed that her mother and younger brother had squandered the money she earned over ten years, leaving her with a debt of 1 billion won. This led to her mother and brother expressing their grievances and making various allegations against her. Ultimately, Jang Yoon-jung ended up in a legal dispute with her mother, resulting in estrangement.
