Jang Seo-hee Clarifies 500 Billion Won Salary Rumor on 'Solo' Show

In the latest episode of SBS Plus and E Channel's variety show 'Solo' (솔로라서), actress Jang Seo-hee addressed the rumors surrounding her alleged 500 billion won salary. During the broadcast on March 18, Jang Seo-hee traveled to Yangyang, Gangwon Province, where she shared that the area brings her good energy. She reminisced about filming the hit drama 'The Lady's Temptation' (아내의 유혹) there, which led to many positive opportunities, including her ventures in China.
Host Shin Dong-yeop inquired about her reported involvement in a multi-hundred billion won drama in China, jokingly suggesting that Jang Seo-hee's demeanor had become more arrogant. Jang clarified, "The project was indeed worth 500 billion won, but the reports exaggerated the details, making it seem like I received that amount as my salary," as she waved her hands dismissively. Shin then quipped, "So your salary must be around 400 billion won?" which elicited laughter from the audience.
Jang Seo-hee also expressed her dedication to spiritual practices, mentioning her commitment to 3,000 bows for good fortune. She recalled being cast in her first leading role in 'Mermaid Lady' (인어아가씨) at the age of 31, a pivotal moment that made her anxious. After consulting a monk, she was advised to perform the bows for clarity and peace.
When discussing her wishes at the temple, Shin humorously remarked, "Are you the big spender in the temple, earning 400 billion won in China and donating it all?" Jang responded that she hopes to meet a good partner, expressing her desire to travel and enjoy life with someone special. Fellow actress Hwang Jung-eum chimed in, offering to join her in the 3,000 bows.
The conversation shifted to her past works, with Jang mentioning her last project, 'The Witch's Game' (마녀의 게임), and her aspirations for future awards. She noted that winning a KBS award would complete her collection of major awards, a dream she hopes to achieve one day. Shin Dong-yeop encouraged her, highlighting the unique status of veteran actress Go Doo-shim in the industry.
