Jang Nara Wins Her First Acting Award at the 2024 SBS Drama Awards

On December 21, 2024, at the SBS Prism Tower in Mapo, Seoul, the 2024 SBS Drama Awards took place, hosted by Shin Dong-yup, Kim Hye-yoon, and Kim Ji-yeon (Bona). The highlight of the evening was Jang Nara winning the prestigious Grand Prize for her role in Good Partner (굿파트너). This moment was particularly special for Jang, as she met her husband, cinematographer Jung Ha-cheol, while working on an SBS project, marking a significant milestone in her career.

Upon receiving the award, Jang expressed her disbelief, stating, "I can't believe this; I don't know what to say. It feels like I've experienced so many amazing things in my life through SBS. Thank you." She continued, "The title Good Partner truly reflects the wonderful partners I met, allowing me to achieve this. I am incredibly grateful to the production team and my fellow cast members."

Jang acknowledged the support of her co-star Nam Ji-hyun, saying, "Nam Ji-hyun was a pillar for our drama and for me. She was a blessing for both me and our show. I am so thankful." She also expressed gratitude to her friends, family, and especially her husband, saying, "To my husband, Jung Ha-cheol, who loves me no matter what, I love you so much."

In an emotional moment, Jang thanked her fans, saying, "I want to sincerely thank the fans who have supported me for over 20 years, even during tough times. It’s a miracle that people I don’t know care about me and watch the dramas we create. I am grateful and sorry at the same time. Thank you to all viewers, whether you like or dislike my work. I will continue to work hard and remain a curious actor."

Other notable winners included Ahn Bo-hyun and Kim Nam-gil, who both received Best Actor awards for their roles in Reborn Rich (재벌X형사) and The Fiery Priest 2 (열혈사제2), respectively. Ahn expressed his gratitude for being nominated alongside esteemed seniors, while Kim shared his desire for a Best Couple award, humorously noting his close relationship with co-star Kim Sung-kyun.

Park Shin-hye, nominated for her role in The Judge (지옥에서 온 판사), won the Director's Award, thanking the writer and director for their support throughout her performance. She reflected on her journey since winning a newcomer award 21 years ago, attributing her success to the love of her fans.
