Jang Nara Wins Grand Prize at 2024 SBS Drama Awards

At the 2024 SBS Drama Awards, actress Jang Nara was honored with the Grand Prize for her role as divorce lawyer Cha Eun-kyung in the hit series Good Partner (굿파트너). Celebrating her 23rd year in the industry, Jang expressed her gratitude, stating, "I feel like I've experienced all the amazing moments of my life at SBS. Thanks to the wonderful partners, I was able to hold this trophy." She particularly thanked her co-star Nam Ji-hyun, saying, "Having Nam Ji-hyun allowed me to do so much. She was a blessing for both the drama and me." Jang Nara, who gained fame from the series My Lovely Sam-soon (명랑소녀 성공기), has continued to shine with her performances in The Lady in Dignity (황후의 품격) and VIP, culminating in Good Partner achieving the highest viewership ratings of the year at 18.7%.

Park Shin-hye, who starred as Kang Bit-na in Hell Judge (지옥에서 온 판사), received the Directors' Award, chosen by the drama's producers. Reflecting on her journey, she shared, "I received the Best New Actress award at the SBS Drama Awards 21 years ago. I am grateful for how warmly everyone has accepted my transformation this time." She also acknowledged the director Park Jin-pyo and her co-star Kim Jae-young, and expressed love for her husband, Choi Tae-joon, saying, "I want to take this opportunity to thank him for the first time."

In the mini-series genre/action category, the Best Actor award went to Ahn Bo-hyun for Reborn Rich (재벌x형사) and Jeon Mi-do for Connection (커넥션). The Best Actor award in the season drama category was shared by Kim Nam-gil and Lee Ha-nee for The Fiery Priest 2 (열혈사제2). In the mini-series human/fantasy category, Kim Jae-young from Hell Judge and Nam Ji-hyun from Good Partner were recognized.

Connection was awarded Drama of the Year, with director Kim Moon-kyu attributing the honor to the cast and writers. Veteran actress Kim Young-ok received a special award for her contributions to SBS's reputation as a drama powerhouse.

In the mini-series genre/action category, the Best Supporting Actor award was shared by Kwon Yul, Kim Kyung-nam, Yoon Sa-bong, and Jung Yoo-min from Connection. In the season drama category, Seo Hyun-woo from The Fiery Priest 2 and Shim Yi-young from 7th Resurrection (7인의 부활) were honored. The supporting actress award in the mini-series human/fantasy category went to the trio of Kim In-kwon, Kim Jae-hwa, and Kim Hye-hwa from Hell Judge, while Ji Seung-hyun, known for his role in Good Partner, also received a supporting award.

The Youth Acting Award was given to Yuna from Good Partner, praised for her authentic portrayal of complex emotions, and Moon Woo-jin from The Fiery Priest 2, who made a strong impression. The Rookie Actor Award, a once-in-a-lifetime honor, was awarded to Kang Sang-jun, Kim Shin-bi, Seo Bum-jun from The Fiery Priest 2, Kim Min-joo from Connection, and Choi Yoo-joo from 7th Resurrection.

The event featured performances by dance team Lachika, girl group (G)I-DLE, and a band stage from the cast of the upcoming 2025 drama Spring of the Four Seasons (사계의 봄). Additionally, Kim Hyung-seo (BIBI), Go Gyu-pil, and Ahn Chang-hwan from The Fiery Priest 2 performed as 'Goo Dam Jeos'.

Teasers for eight new dramas set to air in 2025 were also revealed, including My Perfect Secretary (나의 완벽한 비서) starring Han Ji-min and Lee Joon-hyuk, the thrilling competition drama Treasure Island (보물섬) featuring Park Hyung-sik and Heo Jun-ho, and the fantasy rom-com The Quest for the Body (귀궁) starring Yook Sung-jae and Kim Ji-yeon.

The broadcast achieved a peak rating of 5.1%, with a viewership of 3.7% in the metropolitan area and 1.8% among the 2049 demographic, according to Nielsen Korea.
