Jang Do-yeon Receives Love Call from Japanese Director Yutaka Matsushige on Salon Drip 2

In the latest episode of Salon Drip 2, aired on March 18, 2025, Jang Do-yeon expressed her admiration for renowned Japanese director and actor Yutaka Matsushige. During the episode titled 'SEXY FOOD with Matsushige Yutaka', Jang revealed that she has been a fan of his since the early days when he was less known in Korea. She was thrilled to receive his business card, although she was disappointed to find that it did not include his contact number. Matsushige presented her with a special card written in gold ink, along with a photo card from his show 'The Lonely Gourmet' and a book he authored.

When asked about his popularity in Korea, Matsushige shared that he started his show quietly in Japan and was surprised to see a growing fanbase in Korea. Jang humorously referred to him as her 'food friend' for over ten years, to which Matsushige responded that he would gladly be her food buddy. They joked about dining at a local izakaya and enjoying draft beer together.

Matsushige is currently promoting the release of 'The Lonely Gourmet Movie' in Korea and reminisced about his visit to the country in 2019, which Jang confirmed by showing her social media posts as proof of her fandom.

Feeling emotional, Jang stated that this experience would serve as motivation for her future endeavors. Matsushige remarked that their connection felt familiar, and when Jang asked if he liked her, he expressed that he felt a strong sense of camaraderie with her. He even extended an invitation for her to direct the next season of 'The Lonely Gourmet Movie' or to play the lead role, which left Jang in disbelief. She asked if he had made such offers before, to which Matsushige replied that this was his first time. Jang expressed her happiness and excitement, stating that life is full of surprises.
