IVE's Rei to Host ASEA 2025 in Tokyo

Rei, a member of the popular K-pop group IVE, has been announced as the MC for the upcoming 'ASIA STAR ENTERTAINER AWARDS 2025' (ASEA 2025), set to take place on May 28 and 29 in Tokyo, Japan. According to the ASEA 2025 organizing committee, Rei will take on the hosting duties on the first day of the event.
ASEA is a prestigious awards ceremony that brings together top Asian stars to celebrate music and connect with fans worldwide. This marks a significant milestone for Rei, as it will be her first time hosting an awards show in her home country since her debut.
Since debuting with IVE in 2021, Rei has captivated audiences with her vibrant personality and has gained considerable popularity. Her unique poses, such as the 'Kongsooni Pose' and 'Ribbon Peace,' have become trends among the MZ generation, while her distinctive photo styling on social media has also garnered attention.
Recently, she has made waves with the 'Raging Guinea Pig' challenge from her new song 'ATTITUDE,' further solidifying her status as a trendsetter. Notably, a video she posted on the release day of 'ATTITUDE' has amassed over 26.2 million views on TikTok as of March 19.
Rei's presence in variety shows has also been noteworthy. She has appeared on various programs, including SBS's 'Running Man,' ENA's 'City Z Goes to the Countryside,' and tvN's 'Amazing Saturday,' showcasing her candid charm and earning her a reputation as a 'variety show blue chip.' Additionally, she offers a range of engaging content through her weekly YouTube series 'Try It Out, Rei,' which features talk segments, experiences, and fashion.
As the only Japanese member of IVE, Rei is fluent in Korean, allowing her to shine not only in music but also in variety shows and YouTube content. Fans are eagerly anticipating her performance as an MC at ASEA 2025, where artists and fans from across Asia will gather.
In a statement through her agency, Rei expressed her excitement, saying, "I am honored and happy to be the MC for ASEA 2025 in Japan. I feel a bit nervous and excited since it’s my first time hosting an awards show, but I will work hard to show a great performance. Please look forward to 'MC Rei' and ASEA. See you on May 28!"
Meanwhile, IVE will hold their third fan concert, 'IVE SCOUT,' at the KSPO Dome in Seoul on April 5 and 6, with both days already sold out.
