Ive's Jang Wonyoung Shares Her Debut Story on You Quiz on the Block

On the January 15 episode of tvN's You Quiz on the Block (유퀴즈 온 더 블럭), Jang Wonyoung from the girl group IVE shared her unique journey to debut. Her fellow member Ahn Yujin recounted how she actively pursued her dream, recalling her experience at a year-end awards ceremony when she was just 14. She was captivated by the dazzling glow of the cheering sticks and wished for them to shine in her direction. Motivated, she searched online for opportunities and sent an email with a half-body photo, a selfie, and a song. Although she reached out to multiple agencies, Starship Entertainment was the first to respond, and they traveled all the way to Daejeon to meet her.

Jang Wonyoung also revealed that her childhood dream was to become a news anchor. She had a vague aspiration of being in broadcasting, but it was during her sister's graduation ceremony that she received a casting offer. In a surprising twist, she mentioned that the person who cast her disappeared just three days later, and despite the twists and turns of the entertainment industry, she has never met that person again, leaving everyone astonished.
