IU to Release Her Third Remake Album After Eight Years

Top singer and actress IU (이지은) is set to release her third remake album, titled ‘꽃갈피 셋’ (Kkotgalpi Set), on May 27 at 6 PM. According to her agency, EDAM Entertainment, this album marks her first remake project in eight years. The ‘꽃갈피’ series is known for IU's emotional interpretations of classic songs, having previously reimagined tracks like Yang Hee-eun's ‘가을 아침’ (Autumn Morning) and Kim Gun-mo's ‘잠 못 드는 밤 비는 내리고’ (The Rain Falls on a Sleepless Night) in her earlier albums, ‘꽃갈피’ (2014) and ‘꽃갈피 둘’ (2017). This upcoming release also signifies IU's return to the music scene after approximately 15 months since her last mini-album, ‘더 위닝’ (The Winning), released in February 2024. Currently, IU is excelling in both her music and acting careers. Last year, she made history as the first solo female artist in Korea to hold a solo concert at the Seoul World Cup Stadium. She was also recognized as the 'Number One Korean Artist' by Billboard. Recently, she received acclaim for her dual role as Oh Ae-soon and Yang Geum-myeong in the hit Netflix series ‘폭싹 속았수다’ (My Name). On her birthday, May 16, at 7 PM, IU will stream her first concert film, ‘아이유 콘서트: 더 골든 아워’ (IU Concert: The Golden Hour), on her YouTube channel, featuring her historic concert at the Jamsil Olympic Stadium in September 2022. A new concert is also planned for the first half of next year.
