IU Shares Emotional Journey While Filming Netflix's 'My Name is Ahn Eun-soo'

Singer and actress IU (아이유) recently opened up about her emotional experiences while filming the Netflix drama 'My Name is Ahn Eun-soo' (폭싹 속았수다). In a video released on December 27 on the YouTube channel 'Yoo In Radio', IU revealed that she spent a year working on the project. She plays the character Ahn Eun-soo, stating, "I cried a lot during filming. I was crying in every scene—whether out of sadness, joy, or frustration. I experienced all kinds of tears throughout the year, which is why I feel like I've become more emotional."

Yoo In-na expressed concern for IU, noting that she seemed to have exhausted herself during her intense work schedule, which may have affected her health. In response, IU reassured her fans, saying, "I focused on recovery and listened to my doctor, so I feel like I'm getting better now."

Looking ahead, IU mentioned that she anticipates a busy schedule in the coming year but emphasized the importance of not overexerting herself, admitting, "I'm scared that my recovery is taking longer than expected."

The highly anticipated Netflix original drama 'My Name is Ahn Eun-soo' is set to premiere in March 2024. The series tells the story of Ahn Eun-soo, a rebellious girl born in Jeju in the 1950s, and her adventurous life alongside her partner, Kwan-sik. The cast includes notable actors such as Park Bo-gum (박보검), Moon So-ri (문소리), and Park Hae-joon (박해준).
