IU Donates 500 Million Won to Support Various Causes This Year-End

As the year comes to a close, singer IU (아이유) has made a generous donation of 500 million won to support various marginalized communities. Her agency, EDAM Entertainment, announced on December 25 that IU contributed the funds under the name '아이유애나,' a combination of her stage name and her fan club name, '유애나.' The donation will benefit several organizations, including Seoul Asan Medical Center, the Seoul Child Welfare Association, Together We Smile, and Warm Companions, among others.
The funds will be allocated to various initiatives, such as supporting elderly patients and those suffering from cardiovascular diseases and female cancers through Seoul Asan Medical Center, enhancing the self-sufficiency of youth preparing for independence via the Seoul Child Welfare Association, improving living conditions for vulnerable groups in goshiwons (small rooms) and semi-basements through Together We Smile, creating customized spaces for people with disabilities and providing advanced assistive devices through Warm Companions, and supporting homeless shelters through the Open Welfare Association. Additionally, the funds will aid in providing clean water and healthcare for children abroad through Plan Korea, support cultural and artistic activities for underprivileged children through Together Walking Children, and assist hearing-impaired children with auditory devices through Snail of Love.
IU has consistently engaged in charitable activities on significant occasions such as her debut anniversary, birthday, and year-end celebrations, positively impacting society. In September, she donated 225 million won to commemorate her 16th debut anniversary under the name '아이유애나.' Her philanthropic efforts, especially those involving her fans, have deepened their significance and served as an inspiration to the public.
In addition to her charitable work, IU recently concluded her concert, [2024 IU HEREH WORLD TOUR CONCERT ENCORE: THE WINNING], held at the Seoul World Cup Stadium in September, further solidifying her status as a multi-generational artist with a monumental performance.
