IU and Ju Ji-hoon Shine at the 4th Blue Dragon Series Awards

The 4th Blue Dragon Series Awards celebrated the successes of the dramas 'Bokssak Sogassda' (폭싹 속았수다) and 'Severe Trauma Center' (중증외상센터) on July 18, 2025. IU (아이유) took home the Best Actress award, while Ju Ji-hoon (주지훈) triumphed in the Best Actor category after a fierce competition. Lee Byung-hun (이병헌), known for his role in 'Squid Game 3' (오징어게임3), unfortunately did not win any awards despite his strong presence.
The ceremony, aired on KBS2TV, kicked off with a humorous opening by actor Im Si-wan (임시완), who joked about the importance of thoughtful acceptance speeches, referencing his own experience from the previous year. MC Jeon Hyun-moo (전현무) praised Im's performance, calling it a one-man show, while Shin Dong-yup (신동엽) added humor by suggesting that once words are spoken, they cannot be taken back.
In the entertainment category, the Best Male and Female Entertainer awards went to Giann84 (기안84) from 'Daehwanjang Gi-an-jang' (대환장기안장) and Lee Soo-ji (이수지) from SNL, respectively. Giann84 expressed gratitude for BTS's Jin (진) for sticking to the rules, while Lee Soo-ji credited the success of SNL to its large team.
The Upbit Popular Star Award was presented to Lee Joon-hyuk (이준혁), Park Bo-gum (박보검), IU, and Lee Hae-ri (이혜리). The LG Uplus Good Influence Award went to Ji Ye-eun (지예은) from 'Daehwanjang Gi-an-jang', who humorously remarked on her influence.
In the rookie category, Choo Young-woo (추영우) from 'Severe Trauma Center' won Best Male Rookie, and Kim Min-ha (김민하) from 'I Have a Week to Live' (내가 죽기 일주일 전) won Best Female Rookie. Supporting Actor awards went to Lee Kwang-soo (이광수) from 'Akyun' (악연) and Yeom Hye-ran (염혜란) from 'Bokssak Sogassda'. Ju Ji-hoon won Best Actor for his role in 'Severe Trauma Center', while IU received Best Actress for her dual role in 'Bokssak Sogassda', expressing her deep appreciation for the project.
The Best Drama award went to 'Severe Trauma Center', and the Best Entertainment award was given to 'Black and White Chef – Culinary Class Warfare' (흑백요리사–요리계급전쟁). All cast and crew members took the stage to share in the honor.
The Grand Prize was awarded to 'Bokssak Sogassda', with Jeon Do-yeon (전도연) presenting the award and celebrating the show's quality. The acceptance speech was delivered by Cha Tae-hyun (최대훈), Lee Joon-young (이준영), and Park Bo-gum, with Lee Joon-young humorously referencing a previous mix-up with Lee Joon-hyuk's name.
Despite his global recognition from 'Squid Game 3', Lee Byung-hun left the event empty-handed, even becoming the subject of a playful mime act by Im Si-wan during the opening. This sparked mixed reactions, with some feeling disappointed while others acknowledged the intense competition.
In total, 'Bokssak Sogassda' and 'Severe Trauma Center' each won three awards, showcasing their dominance at the event.
