ITZY Celebrates 6th Anniversary with New Album 'Girls Will Be Girls'

On June 9, 2025, ITZY (있지) celebrated their 6th debut anniversary by expressing their desire to resonate with fans through their latest release. The group, consisting of Yeji (예지), Lia (리아), Ryujin (류진), Chaeryeong (채령), and Yuna (유나), held a press conference at the Grand Ballroom of the Sofitel Ambassador Seoul Hotel & Serviced Residences in Songpa-gu, Seoul, to introduce their new mini-album, 'Girls Will Be Girls' (걸스 윌 비 걸스). This marks their first release of the year and comes approximately eight months after their previous mini-album, 'GOLD' (골드), which was released in October 2024.

With 'Girls Will Be Girls', ITZY aims to amplify the synergy of togetherness, showcasing the strengthened bond between the members and their fans, MIDZY (믿지). During the event, Yeji shared, "As we celebrate our 6th anniversary, we pondered what new message we could convey. We hope to share the resonance of the word 'us' with many people. I believe our teamwork and the friendship we have will resonate with our fans as well."

Reflecting on their comeback as a full group following Yeji's solo debut in March, she emphasized, "I realized that group activities are more precious than solo endeavors. I feel a deep connection with my team; they are my support and my family."

The comeback also received support from JYP Entertainment's founder, Park Jin-young (박진영), who made a notable appearance in ITZY's comeback trailer. Ryujin commented, "He participated thanks to the idea of director Yoo Kwang-hyung (유광굉). We are grateful for his willingness to join and for creating a positive atmosphere. The producer provided us with valuable feedback, saying, 'The song is great; I hope you show your unique energy.'"
