Introducing BOYS II PLANET: A New Global K-POP Audition Project

CJ ENM, a leader in the audition show industry, is embarking on a new venture with the launch of 'BOYS II PLANET' in 2025. This innovative project will introduce a global boy group through a K-POP audition program produced simultaneously in two different regions, marking a first in the world.

The production team behind the successful 'I-LAND' series and 'Girls Planet 999: Soojin's War' has unveiled the details of this new survival project. The second season of 'Boys Planet' has officially been titled 'BOYS II PLANET,' and the recruitment process has begun alongside the release of a teaser video.

A key highlight of 'BOYS II PLANET' is that it will be broadcast in two different languages, maintaining the same format and universe. This approach aims to create a 'first-ever K-POP twin project' where both groups will debut simultaneously. CJ ENM is known for its unique formats and fresh concepts, and fans are eager to see how this new project will unfold under the Mnet original brand.

The teaser for 'BOYS II PLANET' was first revealed at the '2024 MAMA AWARDS' held on November 22 at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan. The video features two individuals floating in space, reaching out to each other, accompanied by the message: "Many worlds exist, but even if they can be imitated, they cannot be the same; one dream becomes reality in two worlds," hinting at the twin project concept.

The K-POP global twin project will consist of 'BOYS II PLANET K' and 'BOYS II PLANET C,' produced in Korean and Chinese, respectively. Kim Shin-young, the chief producer who directed the previous 'Boys Planet,' stated that the project is based on a multiverse concept and aims to tap into the vast potential of the Chinese language, spoken by approximately 1.5 billion people worldwide.

The production team expressed their commitment to discovering talented artists from around the globe, regardless of nationality. They are excited to see how the two groups, emerging from the same universe but through different programs, will interact and create synergy when they perform as a complete unit.

Applications for the groundbreaking K-POP global twin project 'BOYS II PLANET' are open for both the 'K' and 'C' programs. Any boy born on or before January 1, 2012, can apply, regardless of nationality. The application period runs from November 22, 2024, to January 26, 2025. Participants who applied for the pre-audition project 'Planet B' do not need to reapply.
