International Couple's Shocking Confession on Divorce Counseling Show

On December 19, JTBC's 'Divorce Counseling Camp' (이혼숙려캠프) introduced a new couple in its seventh season, marking the show's first international couple. The American wife, Yoon Hee-ah (윤희아), has been suffering from severe depression due to her husband Kim Chan-ho's (김찬호) infidelity, which began just seven months into their six-year marriage. She has attempted suicide ten times as a result of her emotional turmoil.

Despite the gravity of the situation, Kim Chan-ho displayed a brazen attitude. He admitted to having intimate encounters with a woman he met in an open chat room, claiming they did not have sexual intercourse. He also confessed to cheating with a coworker and a crush from his past, insisting these were merely emotional affairs.

Yoon Hee-ah expressed her pain, stating, "My husband cheated on me just seven months into our marriage. I cried so much." In response, Kim Chan-ho acknowledged his infidelity but argued, "I think my wife felt unloved. I did cheat, but we didn’t have sex. I value conclusions."

Yoon Hee-ah revealed that during her pregnancy, her husband had an affair again, to which Kim Chan-ho responded with gaslighting, suggesting that her inner demons were exaggerating the situation. He even blamed her for their financial struggles, stating that she had given him 7 million won for a housing deposit.

The couple also faced issues related to Kim Chan-ho's addiction to adult content, which he admitted to consuming for about five hours a week, even missing important family events like their son's 100-day celebration due to it.

Despite Yoon Hee-ah's significant weight loss from 150 kg to 78 kg over five years, Kim Chan-ho continued to criticize her appearance, telling her to work on her body.

During a consultation with a psychiatrist, the doctor noted a lack of genuine feelings from Kim Chan-ho towards his wife. When asked if he loved her, he replied, "I don’t know. Every time she talks about suicide, I feel less attached."

The psychiatrist expressed shock at Kim Chan-ho's selfishness, stating, "I expected the cause of the wife's depression to be deeper wounds, but I was mistaken. She overcame depression before marriage and has now deteriorated. A human should feel some remorse and responsibility. He should not live selfishly."

The psychiatrist concluded that while there was hope for Yoon Hee-ah, he saw none for Kim Chan-ho, leaving him concerned about the lack of solutions for the couple's issues.
