Intense Cliffhanger in '지금 거신 전화는' as Yoo Yeon-seok Faces Life-or-Death Situation

In the latest episode of MBC's drama '지금 거신 전화는' (The Call You Are Currently Making), Yoo Yeon-seok's character, Baek Sa-eon, finds himself in a precarious situation while trying to rescue Hong Hee-joo, played by Chae Soo-bin. The episode aired on January 3, 2025, leaving viewers anxious about Baek's fate after he appears to be shot by the kidnapper, Park Jae-yoon.

In a chilling exchange, Shim cryptically responds, "What you’re looking for isn’t Hee-joo’s body. Do you think I had any reason to keep her alive? Would you have let her live?"

It becomes clear that Shim had intended to have Hong eliminated by Min Do-gi (Hong Seo-jun). Baek, however, refuses to believe that Shim would spare Hong, insisting that she would find a way to torment him further. As the plot thickens, it is revealed that Hong is still alive, and Baek manages to locate her with the help of the police.

In a tense confrontation, Hong finds herself face-to-face with the kidnapper. Just as Baek arrives, the kidnapper threatens them, revealing a shocking secret about Hong that leaves Baek in tears. The episode ends with the kidnapper aiming a gun at Baek, saying, "This is the face I wanted to see."
