Im Young-woong Donates Prize Money to Support Children with Cancer

Im Young-woong, a renowned singer, has once again showcased his positive influence. On February 5, 2025, the Korea Childhood Cancer Foundation announced that Im donated the 2 million won prize he earned for being named the King of January, thanks to the enthusiastic support of his fan club, 'Hero Era' (영웅시대). This donation will go towards emergency medical expenses for children suffering from childhood cancer, leukemia, and rare diseases.
The donation was made through 'Good Star' (선한스타), a platform that encourages charitable contributions by allowing fans to support their favorite artists through missions and voting in a King of Kings competition. Im Young-woong has accumulated a total of 95.96 million won in donations through this platform, demonstrating his commitment to philanthropy and inspiring his fans to engage in charitable activities as well.
The funds donated in Im Young-woong's name will be used to assist children in urgent need of treatment for serious illnesses. The Korea Childhood Cancer Foundation's emergency support program helps families facing unexpected medical expenses by covering hospitalization fees, medication costs, and other related expenses, allowing them to focus on their children's recovery in a stable environment.
Hong Seung-yoon, an executive at the Korea Childhood Cancer Foundation, expressed gratitude for Im Young-woong's continuous support, stating that his contributions significantly alleviate the financial burdens faced by families dealing with serious illnesses. He also extended his best wishes for Im's future endeavors.
Established in 2001, the Korea Childhood Cancer Foundation is a registered non-profit organization that provides various forms of support, including medical and surgical expense assistance for children with cancer, outpatient treatment costs, emotional support, blood donation campaigns, and the operation of shelters for children with cancer.
