ILLIT Achieves Remarkable Success on Billboard Japan's 2025 Mid-Year Chart

As ILLIT prepares for their comeback, the group has made a significant mark on the Billboard Japan 2025 mid-year chart, showcasing their unique presence in the music scene. According to the mid-year summary released on June 6, which covers the period from November 25, 2024, to May 25, 2025, ILLIT's debut track 'Magnetic' and their first original Japanese song 'Almond Chocolate' ranked 58th and 80th respectively on the Hot 100 chart. They are the only K-pop artist to have two songs on this chart.
Additionally, ILLIT secured the 36th position on the Artist 100 chart, which combines points from both song and album rankings.
'Magnetic,' released in March of last year, quickly took over charts in both South Korea and Japan. It achieved the highest ranking among foreign artist songs on the Billboard Japan annual Hot 100 chart last year and continues to show strong popularity this year. As of January, it received a 'Double Platinum' certification from the Japan Record Association for streaming, marking a record for the fastest achievement by a female group, with over 200 million streams.
'ALmond Chocolate,' released in February as the theme song for the Japanese film 'I Don't Just Like Your Face,' gained traction through word of mouth, leading to a resurgence in popularity. It reached the 10th spot on the Oricon weekly streaming ranking (March 31 - April 6), setting the highest record for K-pop girl group songs released this year.
ILLIT is set to make their comeback on June 16 with their third mini-album 'bomb.' They transformed into magical girls with immense potential in the brand film (little monster MV) released on June 5, garnering enthusiastic responses from global fans. The new album features the title track '빌려온 고양이 (Do the Dance)' along with trendy and addictive songs like 'little monster,' 'jellyous,' 'oops!,' and '밤소풍.'
Before their comeback, ILLIT will hold '2025 ILLIT GLITTER DAY IN SEOUL' on July 7-8 at the Olympic Hall in Olympic Park, Songpa-gu, Seoul, providing fans with a special experience. Following this, they will perform in Japan on August 10-11 and September 3-4 at Pia Arena MM in Yokohama and Osaka Castle Hall, respectively, for a total of four shows.
