Actor Song Young-kyu (송영규), aged 55, is currently under police investigation for drunk driving, with the case recently forwarded to the prosecution. The Yongin Dongbu Police Station announced on July 25 that they had sent Song to the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office without detention for violating traffic laws related to drunk driving. 

On June 19, around 11 PM, Song is accused of driving approximately 5 kilometers from Giheung District to Cheoin District while heavily intoxicated. Police responded to a report of suspected drunk driving and identified his vehicle. Upon conducting a breathalyzer test, it was revealed that his blood alcohol concentration was at a level that would lead to license suspension (0.08%). 

Investigations indicate that Song had been drinking with friends in the Giheung area before deciding to drive home. In a statement to Ilgan Sports, he admitted, "I was absolutely wrong. I am truly sorry." He explained that he initially called for a designated driver, but when a new acquaintance arrived and they chatted at a convenience store, the driver left. He then made the poor decision to drive himself, despite being only a five-minute distance from home, using cruise control. 

Song also mentioned that he was not feeling well on the day of the incident and had taken medication, which he believes may have worsened his condition, leading him to drink less than usual. 

Since his debut in 1994 with the children's musical 'Mertel Dosa' (머털도사), Song has appeared in numerous dramas and films, including notable roles in 'Extreme Job' (극한직업), 'Suriname' (수리남), and 'Casino' (카지노). He is currently starring in the ENA drama 'I Shopping' (아이쇼핑) and is set to appear in the new SBS drama 'Try: We Become Miracles' (트라이: 우리는 기적이 된다), which premieres on July 25.

Kim Jong-nam, the half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, was reportedly advised to seek political asylum in South Korea or the United States just three months before his assassination on February 13, 2017, at Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia. Despite this, Kim Jong-nam left without further comment. Phan reflected on the encounter in an interview, wishing he had been more insistent about urging Kim Jong-nam to seek asylum. He described Kim Jong-nam as a regular patron who enjoyed dishes like beef ribs, cold noodles, stir-fried squid, and soju, often accompanied by a woman believed to be his wife. Phan characterized Kim Jong-nam as kind and soft-spoken. Kim Jong-nam, the eldest son of former North Korean leader Kim Jong-il, had been living abroad for most of his life. He was assassinated by a team sent from North Korea using the toxic nerve agent VX, five years after Kim Jong-un took power following Kim Jong-il's death in December 2011. The shocking assassination was captured on airport CCTV and widely reported around the world.

Kim Jong-nam Was Urged to Seek Asylum Before His Assassination

A serious incident occurred involving Haruna (하루나), a 19-year-old member of the girl group Billlie (빌리), when an intruder unlawfully entered her residence. On July 25, 2025, the group's agency, Mystic Story (미스틱스토리), released a statement detailing that the intruder forcibly damaged the entrance door and threatened the artist. Following the incident, the agency promptly reported the matter to the police and relocated Haruna to a safer location. She also underwent a thorough medical examination. 

The medical assessment indicated that Haruna requires a period of psychological rest and stability. Consequently, Billlie will continue their activities as a six-member group, excluding Haruna, and updates regarding her return will be provided later.
