I Su-geun Expresses Anger Towards Abusive Ex-Husband on 'Ask Anything' Show

On March 24, during the KBS Joy program '무엇이든 물어보살' (Ask Anything), comedian I Su-geun voiced his outrage towards the ex-husband of a guest who shared her story of domestic violence leading to divorce. The guest recounted how she initially thought having an older brother for her first child would be beneficial, which led her to fall for her husband. However, she revealed that he underwent a drastic change immediately after their wedding, becoming an alcoholic who would take out his frustrations on her and demand intimacy, resulting in her becoming pregnant. She described her fear as he began frequenting bars and resorting to violence.

The guest mentioned that she divorced in 2016 but ended up having a second child during a visitation arrangement, which she did not plan for. I Su-geun and fellow guest Seo Jang-hoon speculated that her ex-husband might have played on her emotions to manipulate her. After becoming pregnant with her second child, they reconciled, but the situation worsened with the birth of a third child. She explained that her ex-husband would become aggressive when drinking, leading her to seek a consensual divorce, after which he ceased all communication and failed to provide child support.

She shared her harrowing experience of initially living on the streets, which shocked I Su-geun. The guest expressed her determination to move to Seoul, but faced challenges. When she reached out to her ex-husband for help in finding a place for their children, he was unresponsive. She ended up living on the streets in Pyeongtaek for two weeks, revealing the depth of her struggles.
