'I Live Alone' Wins Program of the Year at MBC Entertainment Awards

'I Live Alone' (나 혼자 산다) was awarded the Program of the Year at the 2025 MBC Entertainment Awards, which aired live on January 28. The event was hosted by broadcaster Jeon Hyun-moo, actor Lee Jang-woo, and actress Yoon Eun-hye, a member of Baby V.O.X.

Singer Park Jung-hyun, who holds the record for the most wins on 'I Am a Singer' (나는 가수다), presented the award for Best Variety Program. Reflecting on her experience, she shared, "During our first competition, none of us knew what to expect. The audience was so focused on our performances that we felt the stage was different. Winning first place gave us the confidence to prepare even harder for the next competition."

Park announced 'I Live Alone' as the winner of the viewer-voted Best Variety Program award. In response, PD Heo Hang, who directs the show, expressed gratitude on behalf of the team. He stated, "Thank you to the viewers who supported 'I Live Alone' last year. This year marks the 12th anniversary of the show. As I watch the Rainbow members, I hope they all find good partners and build happy families, but I also worry about what will happen if even one of them gets married and leaves. It’s hard to think about parting ways since we’ve become like family. The cast members are all wonderful individuals who are living their lives beautifully. Please continue to watch the daily lives of the Rainbow members this year."

PD Heo further added, "I don’t know what kind of luck we have to have a production team like you. Every day feels like a dream, and it brings us so much happiness. If we can make you smile, even for a moment, that’s all we could ask for. Thank you once again, and I wish you all a prosperous New Year."

The MBC Entertainment Awards, which began as a comedy awards show, celebrated its 30th anniversary this year. Originally scheduled for December 29, the event was postponed due to a tragic accident involving a Jeju Air passenger plane on the day of the ceremony. After a national mourning period, the production team decided to hold the event live on the first day of the Lunar New Year holiday.
