He explained that it was a public audition during a time when the 'ulzzang' (얼짱) craze was at its peak, with many attractive candidates and their fans present. He humorously recalled feeling out of place, especially since he was the first to audition.

He also mentioned auditioning for 'A Wolf's Attraction' (늑대의 유혹) and discussed the impact of the drama 'My Name is Kim Sam-soon' (내 이름은 김삼순), which he credited for significantly boosting his popularity. He expressed that he didn't fully appreciate his fame at the time, reflecting, 'If I were the person I am now, I would have enjoyed it more and felt more gratitude, but it just slipped by.'
