Actor Hyun Bin is set to make a splash on television by drinking alcohol for the first time in his 21-year career. This highly anticipated appearance is part of the promotional activities for his upcoming film, 'Harbin'. On December 5, it was revealed that Hyun Bin will join host Shin Dong-yup on the web entertainment show 'Jjanhan Hyung', alongside his co-stars Park Jung-min, Jeon Yeo-been, and Park Hoon.
The cast's appearance on 'Jjanhan Hyung' is aimed at promoting 'Harbin', directed by Woo Min-ho and produced by CJ ENM and Hive Media Corp. The film, set in 1909, revolves around a gripping chase and the ensuing suspicions among those heading to Harbin for a common goal. This collaboration marks another significant project from the creators of 'The Man Standing Next' and 'Inside Men', and it is being touted as one of the most anticipated films of the winter.
Hyun Bin's return to the big screen comes nearly two years after his last film, 'Negotiation', and holds special significance as it is his first project since marrying actress Son Ye-jin and welcoming their son. In 'Harbin', he portrays Ahn Jung-geun, a general who seeks to eliminate Ito Hirobumi.
Since his debut in 2003 with the KBS2 drama 'Bodyguard', Hyun Bin has starred in numerous hit dramas and films, including 'My Name is Kim Sam-soon', 'Secret Garden', 'Crash Landing on You', and movies like 'The Negotiation' and 'Confidential Assignment'. His impressive career has earned him multiple awards, including the MBC Acting Awards and the Baeksang Arts Awards.
'Jjanhan Hyung' is a talk show format where Shin Dong-yup and co-host Jung Ho-cheol enjoy candid conversations with guests. The show premiered on August 28, 2023, and airs every Monday at 6 PM. Notable guests have included Lee Hyori, Ha Ji-won, and many more.
With the recording already completed, fans are eager to see how Hyun Bin presents himself in this unique setting, especially as he navigates life as a new father. Additionally, he is also set to appear on 'You Quiz on the Block', marking his first personal talk show appearance in 13 years.
'Harbin' is scheduled to hit theaters on December 25.
