At the 'Disney Content Showcase - APAC 2024' held at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, actor Hyun Bin shared news about his first drama project since the birth of his son with wife Son Ye-jin. The event took place on November 21, 2024, and featured announcements regarding content from Disney+ Korea and Disney+ Japan.
During the showcase, Disney introduced a variety of upcoming projects, including 'Lighting Store', 'Hyper Knife', 'Trigger', 'Knock Off', 'Nine Puzzle', and 'Fine: Country Bumpkins'. Among these, 'Tangled' and 'Sculpture City' were highlighted as Disney+ Originals making their debut. Additionally, two highly anticipated projects currently in production, 'Polaris' and 'Made in Korea', drew significant attention.
'Polaris', starring Jun Ji-hyun and Kang Dong-won, is a collaboration between Korea and Disney+ for a Hollywood production. The film, directed by Kim Hee-won, aims for a 2025 release and revolves around uncovering threats to the Korean Peninsula.
On the other hand, 'Made in Korea', featuring Hyun Bin and Jung Woo-sung, is an exciting crime drama that explores the story of a man blinded by wealth and power and a principled prosecutor who stands against him. Set in the 1970s, the drama is currently in production under the direction of Woo Min-ho. In a video message, Hyun Bin expressed, "I am playing the role of Baek Gi-tae, who is chasing wealth and power. I am currently filming diligently with excellent actors, directors, and staff. We will present a fun and engaging project, so please look forward to our first Disney+ release." Jung Woo-sung added, "I am portraying Prosecutor Jang Geon-young. Unfortunately, I couldn't attend the Disney Showcase as we are in the midst of filming. I wish I could have enjoyed the event with everyone, but I will do my best to enhance the quality of our work and create a great project."
