Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin Support Each Other's Careers

Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin, the beloved couple in the Korean entertainment industry, have been showcasing their mutual support for each other's professional endeavors. On the evening of December 19, Son Ye Jin attended the VIP premiere of the film 'Harbin' (하얼빈) at the CGV I-Park Mall in Yongsan, Seoul, to cheer on her husband, Hyun Bin, who stars in the lead role.

'Harbin' is a gripping narrative set in 1909, depicting the intense pursuit and suspicion between those heading to Harbin for a common goal and those chasing them. The film dramatically portrays the assassination of Ito Hirobumi by independence activist Ahn Jung-geun.

In this film, Hyun Bin takes on the role of Ahn Jung-geun, marking his return to the big screen after a year since the release of 'Negotiation' (교섭) in January 2023. Son Ye Jin's presence at the VIP screening was a testament to her support for her husband.

The couple's strong bond was also highlighted during an episode of tvN's variety show 'You Quiz on the Block' (유 퀴즈 온 더 블록) aired on December 18. Hyun Bin shared a heartfelt video message for Son Ye Jin, revealing that their son signaled his arrival into the world just before the film's production began. He expressed his admiration and gratitude for Son Ye Jin's strength and resilience during this time.

Hyun Bin acknowledged the challenges Son Ye Jin faced while he was away filming abroad, stating, "I want to thank you for enduring everything alone. If our son had been born on the due date, I wouldn’t have had the chance to cut the umbilical cord myself, but I’m grateful he came to meet me before I left for filming. I hope you both stay healthy and happy every day."

In addition to supporting Hyun Bin, Son Ye Jin is also preparing for her return to acting. She is currently filming Park Chan-wook's new project 'There’s No Way' (어쩔 수가 없다), which marks her first film since becoming a mother. The film also stars veteran actor Lee Byung-hun, and Hyun Bin even sent a snack truck to the set under their son's name to support her.

During 'You Quiz,' Hyun Bin expressed his pride in Son Ye Jin's new project, saying, "This is her first work after our marriage. She’s working with wonderful people, and I wanted to encourage her by sending a snack truck in our son’s name. I know how much she has wanted to work as an actress, and I feel sorry for the sacrifices she has made as a mother. After I finish filming 'Harbin,' I will make sure to tell her she did a great job."
