Hwaseong Yuil Hospital Upgraded to General Hospital Status
Hwaseong Yuil Hospital has officially been upgraded to the status of a general hospital, becoming the second comprehensive medical facility in the western region of Hwaseong. The hospital is operated by Heo Il, the husband of actress Yeom Jung-ah.
On May 21, the city of Hwaseong announced that a ceremony celebrating the hospital's new status took place the previous day at the hospital's Sky Garden. The event was attended by Hwaseong Special City Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun, city council members, local community organizations from Namyang-eup, and health center directors from Hwaseong's western, eastern, and Dongtan areas.
Due to the large area of Hwaseong, the lack of comprehensive medical facilities has been a persistent issue, with only one general hospital previously available. Mayor Jeong took to Facebook to highlight the significance of Hwaseong Yuil Hospital's upgrade, stating, "We will do our utmost to enhance the medical infrastructure."
With this upgrade, it is anticipated that the gap in medical services within the region will be partially addressed. Since its opening in 2019, Hwaseong Yuil Hospital has become a leading hospital in the western area, offering a total of 12 medical specialties, including a newly opened obstetrics and gynecology department that began operations on February 3 of this year.
The event also drew attention due to the presence of actress Yeom Jung-ah, who is married to Heo Il. Dressed in black pants and a blue shirt, she supported her husband throughout the ceremony, participating in the ribbon-cutting and taking photos. Notably, she was seen smiling and filming Heo Il during his commemorative speech.
Yeom Jung-ah has previously expressed her affection for her husband in various broadcasts. In July of last year, during her appearance on tvN's "You Quiz on the Block," she shared, "We met through a blind date and got married in 2006. He sat next to me but never looked at my face, which I found adorable, so we went on three dates." In a 2013 interview, she described her husband as a "stressed orthopedic surgeon" and mentioned, "He looks younger than me, but he is a year older. He’s cute. I had a list of 100 ideal traits before marriage, and he met almost all of them, including good looks."
