Hwanhee Surprises on 'Current King of Masked Singers 2' with R&B Twist

Hwanhee, a member of the duo Fly to the Sky, made a surprise appearance on the premiere of MBN's 'Current King of Masked Singers 2' on November 26, 2024. The show features a lineup of 34 active male singers competing for a spot in the top 7 who will represent South Korea in the upcoming 'Korea-Japan King of Singers' competition in 2025.

As the names of the contestants appeared on the screen, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement. When 'Hwanhee' was announced, fellow singers speculated, "It could be someone with the same name." However, Hwanhee soon took the stage, greeting everyone with a respectful 90-degree bow and saying, "Nice to meet you."

The other active singers stood up in excitement, expressing their admiration with comments like, "I was a real fan!" and "To me, he’s a celebrity!" The mood shifted again when comedian Kim Young-chul's name appeared, prompting the singers to joke, "Is he an actor or not?" They erupted in laughter when Kim Young-chul made his entrance, exclaiming, "This is crazy!"

'Current King of Masked Singers 2' is a major project commemorating the 60th anniversary of Korea-Japan diplomatic relations, aiming to select the top 7 male singers who will represent South Korea in the prestigious 'Korea-Japan King of Singers' event in 2025.
