In light of these developments, the production team of the variety show Single's Inferno (솔로라서), where she is a regular cast member, has taken a cautious stance. On May 15, the team from SBS Plus and T-Cast E Channel's Single's Inferno stated, "We are aware of the controversy surrounding Hwang Jung-eum and have requested her agency to confirm the facts. The direction of future edits will depend on the agency's response."
Single's Inferno is an observational reality show that showcases the daily lives of singles, with Hwang Jung-eum sharing her experiences as a mother of two sons following her divorce. Her cheerful and lively demeanor has garnered significant viewer support, making the current controversy particularly shocking.
Hwang Jung-eum is accused of taking 700 million KRW from a loan obtained under her 100% owned agency's name and investing it in cryptocurrency, leading to a total embezzlement of 4.34 billion KRW. The first court hearing for this case took place on May 15 at the Jeju District Court, and her agency has stated that they are currently verifying the details related to the allegations.
