‘How Do You Play?’ Kicks Off Winter Song Project Amid News Break
The popular MBC show ‘How Do You Play?’ (놀면 뭐하니?) has launched its Winter Song project, although the broadcast was briefly interrupted by a news special. On January 18, the episode featured hosts Yoo Jae-suk, Joo Woo-jae, Lee Yi-kyung, Park Jin-joo, and Lee Mi-joo, along with guests Kim Jo-han, KCM, John Park, Ailee, and members of Nmixx, including Haewon, Seungheon, Song Gun-hee, and Oh Sang-wook. The group voted on songs for the Winter Song project, with nominees including 'Tired Day' by Kim Pil and Kwak Jin-eon, 'White Whale' by YB, 'Shall We Walk Together' by Lee Jeok, and 'Butterfly' by Loveholics.
In a close voting result, 'Butterfly' was chosen as the group song. Yoo Jae-suk suggested that the second-place song, 'White Whale,' was too good to waste and proposed that the men perform it separately. The female members also decided to gather for a separate performance during the next recording. However, just as they were about to proceed, a news special signal interrupted the show, announcing that President Yoon Suk-yeol's warrant review had concluded, and he would be returning to the Seoul Detention Center.
The news anchor reported, "The warrant review for President Yoon Suk-yeol has just finished, earlier than expected, taking just under five hours." A reporter added that it concluded at 6:50 PM, lasting 4 hours and 43 minutes, compared to the 8 hours and 45 minutes it took during former President Park Geun-hye's review. After the review, President Yoon was transported back to the detention center.
Fortunately, ‘How Do You Play?’ resumed at 7:38 PM. In the continuation of the episode, Ailee, Park Jin-joo, Lee Mi-joo, and Nmixx's Haewon chose Toy's 'Still Beautiful' as their female group song, which was released in 1999. The members reflected on the lyrics, and Ailee humorously noted, "I’ve changed. I’ve lost weight in this part. Why do I lose weight after a breakup?" She jokingly altered the lyrics to say, "I’ve gained some weight."
Yoo Jae-suk asked Haewon, born in 2003, about the lyrics, to which she replied, "I couldn’t relate to the lyrics at all. I have no experience with breakups. I have no experience whatsoever." Nearby, senior girl group member Lee Mi-joo playfully warned her, "You should be careful with what you say."
