‘How Do You Play?’ Continues Its Charitable Legacy for the Sixth Year

MBC's popular variety show ‘How Do You Play?’ (놀면 뭐하니?) is once again making a positive impact through charitable donations, marking its sixth consecutive year of giving. The show, directed by Kim Jin-yong, Lee Joo-won, Wang Jong-seok, Ahn Ji-sun, and Bang Seong-su, will donate the proceeds from its music and merchandise sales to support vulnerable communities. This year, the total donation amount reached 470 million KRW, thanks to the efforts of cast members Yoo Jae-suk, Haha, Joo Woo-jae, Park Jin-joo, Lee Yi-kyung, and Mi-joo, along with the production team.

The funds will be distributed to various organizations, including the Community Chest of Korea, Anna's House, the Milal Welfare Foundation, the Dongbang Social Welfare Society, Severance Children's Hospital, Seoul National University Children's Hospital, the Green Umbrella Children's Foundation, the Love Sharing Foundation, the Korean Childhood Cancer Foundation, and the Snail of Love. This generous support aims to assist children, single-parent families, the hearing-impaired, and the homeless, showcasing a heartwarming commitment to social welfare.

Additionally, this year’s donations include contributions from sports stars participating in the Paris Olympics. In the segment ‘How Do You Shoot?’, archery national team members Kim Woo-jin, Lee Woo-seok, Kim Je-deok, Lim Si-hyeon, Jeon Hoon-young, and Nam Soo-hyun shot arrows at increasingly difficult targets, earning a total of 12 million KRW in scholarships for youth archery talent development. Each of the six athletes will donate 2 million KRW to their alma maters and local scholarship foundations.

High jumper Woo Sang-hyuk, known as the ‘Smile Jumper’, also participated in the segment ‘How Do You Jump?’, where he cleared progressively higher barriers to secure 7 million KRW. Following his wishes, this donation will be given to the Korea Athletics Federation to foster talent in high jump.

‘How Do You Play?’ not only brings laughter and emotion to its viewers but also leads the way in promoting the beautiful value of altruism. The cast and crew expressed their gratitude, stating, “We are thankful to be able to return the love we received from our viewers to many more people. In the new year, we will continue to work hard to bring happiness to everyone’s daily lives.”
