‘Hot-Blooded Priest 2’ Concludes with a Satisfying Ending

The SBS drama ‘열혈사제2’ (Hot-Blooded Priest 2) wrapped up its storyline on December 27, 2024, with a thrilling finale featuring the arrest of 남두헌 (Seo Hyun-woo) and 김홍식 (Sung Joon). The episode kicked off with the start of the 꿀단지 (Honey Pot) Gate hearing. Right from the beginning, 남두헌 refused to take an oath, citing his condition that causes him to faint under stress, which he claimed would prevent him from testifying. Despite 김해일 (Kim Nam-gil) shouting that such symptoms were unbelievable, 남두헌 presented a medical certificate confirming his condition, which included terms like 'reflex syncope' and 'situational syncope.'

On the second day of the hearing, 김만천 (Park Ji-il) sided with 남두헌 and provided false testimony. 김해일 challenged him, suggesting that they were not dealing with a drug organization but rather setting traps for the public. 김만천 defended his stance by claiming it represented the justice and conscience of a new era in South Korea, pointing out that no one steals laptops left in cafes or packages in hallways.

In response, 김해일 expressed his outrage, stating that a country where people do not steal does not equate to safety. He emphasized that true safety comes from a nation that guarantees truth, arguing that the current situation in South Korea was a massacre of truth and history, with innocent citizens bearing the consequences.

Despite the heated exchanges, 김만천 accused the witnesses, particularly a priest, of having questionable motives and political affiliations. 김해일 countered by questioning whether caring about the world made one politically biased.

As tensions escalated, 박경선 (Lee Ha-nee) revealed crucial evidence by exposing a conversation between 남두헌 and 김만천, leading to the unveiling of the 꿀단지 files. Meanwhile, 김홍식 made a dramatic appearance at the hearing, aiming for revenge against 남두헌. When he pointed a gun at 남두헌, the latter warned him that killing him would make him a notorious murderer in the eyes of the public. However, the gun misfired, and 구대영 (Kim Sung-kyun) revealed that the weapon was a fake, commonly sold in Incheon.

In the ensuing chaos, 김해일 intervened, subduing 김홍식 and his henchmen. As 김홍식 was taken away, 김해일 remarked on the challenges of living in South Korea, while 박경선 noted that he should be grateful he wasn't killed. Ultimately, 남두헌 was also arrested as corruption was exposed.

After the dust settled, 박경선 decided to leave her position as a prosecutor to run for a seat in the National Assembly, while 김해일 continued his mission to educate the public, taking down a group involved in distributing harmful videos during the cold winter days.
