Hong Sang-soo and Kim Min-hee's 'In Front of Your Face' Wins Top Awards at Gijón International Film Festival

The film 'In Front of Your Face' (수유천) has garnered significant acclaim at the 62nd Gijón International Film Festival, winning both the Best Film Award and the Best Actress Award for Kim Min-hee. According to the overseas distributor Finecut, the film, directed by Hong Sang-soo, received these prestigious honors at the festival held in Gijón, a port city in the Asturias region of Spain, which has been celebrating innovative and unique films since 1963.

Kim Min-hee's performance in 'In Front of Your Face' has also earned her the Best Acting Award at the 77th Locarno Film Festival in August.

Hong Sang-soo has a long-standing relationship with the Gijón festival, having previously won the Best Film Award in 2015 for 'Right Now, Wrong Then' (지금은 맞고 그때는 틀리다). He also received the Best Actress Award in 2017 for 'On the Beach at Night Alone' (밤의 해변에서 혼자) and the Best Film and Best Screenplay Awards in 2018 for 'Hotel by the River' (강변호텔).

Released in September, 'In Front of Your Face' is available for streaming on various platforms, including U+ TV and Naver Series On. The film features a cast that includes Kim Min-hee, who also served as the production manager, alongside Kwon Hae-hyo, Jo Yoon-hee, and Ha Sung-kook.

Hong Sang-soo and Kim Min-hee began their relationship during the production of 'Right Now, Wrong Then' in 2015, overcoming a 22-year age difference. They publicly acknowledged their romantic involvement during a press conference for 'On the Beach at Night Alone' in March 2017, despite the controversy surrounding their relationship, as Hong was already married with a daughter at the time.
