High Five Surpasses 1 Million Viewers in Just 9 Days

The film '하이파이브' (High Five) has achieved a remarkable milestone, surpassing 1 million viewers just nine days after its release. According to the integrated ticketing system on June 7, the movie, which premiered on May 30, reached this impressive audience count by the afternoon of the same day.
'하이파이브' is now the fifth Korean film released this year to hit the 1 million viewer mark, following titles like '히트맨2' (Hitman 2), '검은 수녀들' (Black Nuns), '승부' (Victory), and '야당' (Opposition). It accomplished this feat two days faster than '승부', which reached the same number on its 11th day.
This action-comedy features a star-studded cast including Yoo Ah-in (유아인), Ra Mi-ran (라미란), Ahn Jae-hong (안재홍), Lee Jae-in (이재인), and Kim Hee-won (김희원). The plot revolves around five individuals who accidentally gain superpowers through organ transplants and their encounters with those who seek to exploit their abilities. The main characters include a taekwondo girl named '완서' (Wan-seo) who receives a heart transplant, a writer hopeful '지성' (Ji-seong) who gets a lung transplant, a Yakult manager '선녀' (Seon-nyeo) with a kidney transplant, an FM work team leader '약선' (Yak-seon) who receives a liver transplant, and a hipster slacker '기동' (Gi-dong) who has a cornea transplant.
The film is directed by Kang Hyoung-chul (강형철), known for his previous works such as '과속스캔들' (Speedy Scandal) and '써니' (Sunny).
