The film 'Hidden Face' (히든 페이스), directed by Kim Dae-woo and produced by Studio & New and Solear Partners, has officially crossed the 1 million viewer mark. As of December 22, 2024, at 3:45 PM, the film has attracted a total of 1,000,014 viewers, according to the integrated ticketing system.
'Hidden Face' follows Seong-jin (송승헌), who is on a quest to find his missing fiancée, Soo-yeon (조여정). His search takes a turn when Soo-yeon's junior, Mi-joo (박지현), appears, revealing that Soo-yeon is trapped in a secret space, leading to a thrilling and unpredictable narrative.
This film has set a unique record as the only South Korean film rated for adults released this year to surpass 1 million viewers. It has reignited interest in adult-rated Korean films, becoming the first to reach this milestone since 'Tazza: One Eyed Jack' (타짜: 원 아이드 잭) in 2019.
The performances by 송승헌, 조여정, and 박지현 have been praised for their bold transformations, while the film's shocking plot twists and exploration of complex relationships have captivated audiences aged 20 to 50. Viewers have lauded the film for its portrayal of excessive human desire, with comments like, "A brilliant depiction of the consequences of human greed!"
