Henry Surprises as Presenter at MBC Entertainment Awards After Controversy

Henry made a surprising return to the spotlight as a presenter at the 2024 MBC Entertainment Awards (MBC 연예대상) on January 28, 2025, after a four-year hiatus due to a controversy surrounding his pro-China stance. The event, hosted by Jeon Hyun-moo, actor Lee Jang-woo, and Yoon Eun-hye from Baby V.O.X, was broadcast live. This year marked the 30th anniversary of the awards, celebrated with a nostalgic 'Reply' theme, featuring special presenters. Henry, alongside Apink's Yoon Bo-mi, presented the Rookie of the Year award, drawing significant attention. Since his return to the Korean music scene last year with new songs and performances, including a stage at Waterbomb, Henry's comeback has been notable. During the event, he and Yoon Bo-mi reminisced about their time on the MBC variety show 'Real Men' (진짜 사나이), marking their first reunion in a decade. When Yoon Bo-mi suggested they should consider doing it again, Henry humorously replied, 'I’m not ready yet. I don’t even remember what I said back then.' Yoon Bo-mi quipped that their past experiences led to Apink's song '1도 없어' (Nothing at All). Originally scheduled for December 29, the awards ceremony was postponed due to a tragic incident involving a Jeju Air flight, but was successfully held on the first day of the Lunar New Year holiday after a national mourning period.
