'Harbin' Hits 2 Million Viewers in Just 5 Days Since Release

The film 'Harbin' (하얼빈), starring Hyun Bin (현빈) and directed by Woo Min-ho (우민호), has surpassed 2 million viewers just five days after its release on December 24. According to the Korean Film Council's integrated ticketing system and distributor CJ ENM, the film reached this milestone by 6 PM on December 28. This rapid success outpaces that of 'Seoul's Spring' (서울의 봄), another production by Hive Media Corp, which also crossed the 2 million mark but took longer. The pace is comparable to that of the Hollywood blockbuster 'Avatar: The Way of Water'. 'Harbin' dramatizes the historical event where independence activist Ahn Jung-geun (안중근) assassinated Ito Hirobumi (이토 히로부미), the first governor-general of Korea under Japanese rule. The film explores the struggles and emotional turmoil faced by Ahn and his fellow independence fighters as they planned the assassination. Alongside Hyun Bin, the cast includes Park Jung-min (박정민), Jo Woo-jin (조우진), Lee Dong-wook (이동욱), Park Hoon (박훈), and Jeon Yeo-bin (전여빈).
