Gu Jun-yeop's Heartbreaking Journey After Losing His Beloved Wife

Gu Jun-yeop is currently in a state of deep sorrow following the loss of his beloved wife, Seo Hee-won. Reports reveal that he has been visiting her grave daily, resulting in a significant weight loss of over 12 kg, which has drawn concern from fans and netizens alike. On May 12, Seo Hee-won's mother shared on social media that this year's Parents' Day is particularly painful, noting that her son-in-law is becoming increasingly gaunt as he mourns his wife. In a recently released family photo, Gu's haggard face and lack of a smile struck a chord with many viewers.

Seo Hee-won tragically passed away in February after being rushed to the emergency room during a trip to Japan due to pneumonia caused by the flu. Following her death, Gu Jun-yeop held her funeral at Jinbao Mountain in Taiwan, where he tearfully carried her ashes to their final resting place.

Since then, Gu has withdrawn from public life, rarely making appearances as he copes with his grief. According to Taiwanese media outlet ETtoday, he visits his wife's grave at Geumbo Mountain every day, and the stress of his loss has led to a drastic weight loss of nearly 12 kg.

Taiwanese singer and actress Bai Bingbing expressed her sorrow in an interview, revealing that she spoke with Seo Hee-won's mother and felt heartbroken upon hearing about Gu's daily visits to the grave. She noted that while young people can distract themselves with work, Seo's mother is understandably more worried about Gu's well-being.

Currently, Gu Jun-yeop is collaborating with a close friend to create a memorial statue in honor of Seo Hee-won, stating that he will not return to Korea until the statue is completed. He has also postponed visiting his family in Seoul until he has finished mourning his wife.
