Gong Hyo-jin Shares Thoughts on Her Wedding During 'Ask the Stars' Filming

On December 18, during the press conference for the new tvN drama 'Ask the Stars' (별들에게 물어봐) held at The Saint Grand Ballroom in Sindorim, Seoul, actress Gong Hyo-jin opened up about her recent wedding while filming the series. The event was attended by director Park Shin-woo and co-stars Lee Min-ho, Gong Hyo-jin, Oh Jung-se, and Han Ji-eun.

'Ask the Stars' follows the story of Eve (played by Gong Hyo-jin), a boss working in a zero-gravity space station, and a mysterious guest named Dinosaur (played by Lee Min-ho) who has a secret mission.

Gong Hyo-jin made headlines when she married singer Kevin Oh, who is ten years her junior, during the filming of the drama in 2022. She expressed her relief that the show is set to premiere sooner than expected, stating, "We initially thought it would take about three to four years for filming and post-production. I’m so glad it’s coming out earlier than we anticipated. The team worked really hard, and I appreciate their quick efforts. We thought we wouldn’t see it until around 2025 due to the extensive post-production work."

She explained that she couldn’t postpone her wedding, as she expected the show to be released in 2025 or 2026. "I thought I should get married in the middle of filming instead of delaying it. I was able to take just ten days off for the wedding, thanks to everyone’s consideration."

Gong Hyo-jin shared that the filming schedule was tight, and Lee Min-ho had to continue shooting in her absence. "I felt overwhelmed juggling the wedding and filming, but it was nice to return and play the lead in a romantic comedy right after getting married. Everything fell into place better than I imagined with Min-ho."

She also mentioned discussing wedding preparations with her co-stars, seeking advice from Oh Jung-se and Lee Min-ho, who also recently got married. "Everyone blessed me, and I remember the applause I received when I returned as a married woman. That year was filled with wonderful memories, and I’m thrilled that the show is releasing on time."

'Ask the Stars' is set to premiere on January 4, 2025, at 9:20 PM.
