(G)I-DLE's Minnie Donates 100 Million Won for Earthquake Relief in Myanmar and Thailand

Minnie, a member of the K-pop group (여자)아이들, has made a generous donation of 100 million won to the Korean Red Cross to support recovery efforts following the devastating earthquakes in Myanmar and Thailand. This contribution follows her previous donation of 100 million won on March 31 to aid in the recovery from nationwide wildfire damage. Additionally, she had previously donated 20 million won for the earthquake relief efforts in Turkey and Syria in 2023, demonstrating her commitment to philanthropy and positive influence.
Minnie expressed her sorrow upon hearing about the suffering caused by the earthquakes in Thailand and Myanmar, stating, "It broke my heart to learn about the people affected by the earthquakes, especially since Thailand is my hometown."
She added, "I wanted to contribute, even in a small way, and I sincerely hope that the affected areas recover quickly and that the displaced individuals can return to their safe daily lives."
Kim Cheol-soo, the president of the Korean Red Cross, remarked, "Minnie's warm heart will be a great source of strength for the residents in the affected areas. We will ensure that the donation is delivered swiftly and transparently to where it is needed most."
The Korean Red Cross plans to utilize Minnie's donation for emergency relief activities in Myanmar and Thailand, specifically for providing food, medical supplies, and temporary housing for those affected.
Furthermore, the organization has allocated 100,000 Swiss francs (approximately 170 million won) for emergency relief in Myanmar and is conducting a nationwide fundraising campaign until the 30th of this month.
