G-Dragon Tops Boy Group Brand Reputation Rankings for May 2025

On May 17, 2025, it was announced that G-Dragon (지드래곤) of BIGBANG has secured the top position in the boy group individual brand reputation rankings. According to the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute, the analysis of big data from April 17 to May 17, 2025, revealed that G-Dragon ranked first, followed by Jin (진) from BTS and Cha Eun-woo (차은우) from ASTRO in second and third place, respectively.

The analysis involved extracting 72,429,761 pieces of brand big data from 755 individual boy group members, focusing on consumer behavior metrics such as participation index, media index, communication index, and community index. This represents a 5.23% decrease compared to the 76,428,630 pieces of data analyzed in April.

The brand reputation index is a metric created through big data analysis that highlights how consumer online habits significantly influence brand consumption. It measures positive and negative evaluations, media interest, and consumer engagement with individual boy group brands. The analysis also included brand value assessments and qualitative evaluations of brand reputation, with recommendation indicators weighted in the results.

The top 30 rankings for May 2025 are as follows: 1) G-Dragon (BIGBANG), 2) Jin (BTS), 3) Cha Eun-woo (ASTRO), 4) Jimin (BTS), 5) Jungkook (BTS), 6) Park Ji-hoon (Wanna One), 7) V (BTS), 8) Suga (BTS), 9) Kang Daniel (Wanna One), 10) Yoon Do-joon (Highlight), 11) J-Hope (BTS), 12) Won-bin (Rise), 13) Heechul (Super Junior), 14) Seong Han-bin (Zero Base One), 15) Yang Yo-seob (Highlight), 16) RM (BTS), 17) Hwang Min-hyun (Wanna One), 18) Baekhyun (EXO), 19) Key (SHINee), 20) Lee Gi-kwang (Highlight), 21) Sohee (Rise), 22) Kyuhyun (Super Junior), 23) Juyeon (The Boyz), 24) Jun (SEVENTEEN), 25) Taeyang (BIGBANG), 26) Seongchan (Rise), 27) Kai (EXO), 28) Daesung (BIGBANG), 29) San (ATEEZ), 30) Taemin (SHINee).

G-Dragon's brand reputation index was analyzed at 4,679,825, with participation index at 1,013,394, media index at 897,218, communication index at 1,074,548, and community index at 1,694,665, marking a 28.77% decrease from April's index of 6,570,472.

In second place, Jin's brand reputation index was 4,419,595, showing a 46.89% increase from April's 3,008,681. Cha Eun-woo ranked third with an index of 4,343,362, a 23.38% decrease from April's 5,668,853.

The analysis by Gu Chang-hwan, director of the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute, noted that G-Dragon's brand showed high link analysis scores for terms like 'perform,' 'sell out,' and 'release.' Keyword analysis highlighted 'Tokyo Dome concert,' 'world tour,' and 'Weverse' as significant. The positive sentiment ratio for G-Dragon was analyzed at 92.08%.
