G-Dragon Reveals the Inspiration Behind 'Good Day'

On February 13, MBC held a press conference for its new variety show 'Good Day' (굿데이), featuring G-Dragon (지드래곤), Jung Hyung-don (정형돈), Defconn (데프콘), and producer Kim Tae-ho (김태호). The event was streamed live on MBC's official YouTube channel.

'Good Day' is a music project where G-Dragon, a cultural icon, collaborates with various influential figures from different fields to create songs that capture the essence of the year. The reunion of G-Dragon and Kim Tae-ho, who have worked together since the 'Infinite Challenge' (무한도전) days, has generated significant anticipation.

The show boasts an impressive lineup, including Jung Hyung-don, Defconn, BIGBANG's Taeyang (태양) and Daesung (대성), broadcasters Jo Se-ho (조세호) and Hong Jin-kyung (홍진경), former ZE:A member Kwanghee (광희), actors Kim Go-eun (김고은), Kim Soo-hyun (김수현), Im Si-wan (임시완), Jung Hae-in (정해인), Hwang Jung-min (황정민), and K-pop groups aespa and SEVENTEEN's BSS.

G-Dragon shared his thoughts on the show, stating, "During my break, I observed the activities of my seniors and juniors. When I was younger, I was inspired by images of senior artists coming together to create music or perform on stage. It fueled my dream of becoming a singer and my desire to be part of such gatherings."

He continued, "As K-pop has grown globally, the system for creating content has changed significantly. I felt that having these gatherings would foster warmth and connection, especially as I prepare for my comeback. I wanted to create a space where we could interact and build relationships."

G-Dragon expressed his desire to leave a meaningful legacy as BIGBANG approaches its 20th anniversary next year. He emphasized the importance of creating a joyful atmosphere by bringing many people together, stating, "I believe it will be a good day."

'Good Day' is set to premiere on February 16 at 9:10 PM KST.
