G-Dragon Reminisces About His Military Service and Calls to Jung Hyung Don

In a recent episode of the web entertainment show 'Jung Hyung Don's Titleless TV,' G-Dragon (지드래곤) opened up about his military service days, revealing how he once pleaded with his close friend Jung Hyung Don (정형돈) for a phone connection. The episode, released on May 13, featured G-Dragon as a guest, where he and Jung Hyung Don reminisced about their past collaborations, including their beloved duet on MBC's 'Infinite Challenge' (무한도전). The two also reunited on MBC's 'Good Day' (굿데이), which garnered positive feedback from fans.
G-Dragon expressed his awareness of the public's interest in their friendship, stating, "You keep appearing in my algorithm. It seems like fans and people around us enjoy seeing us together." He was candid during the interview, even playfully responding to questions about lawyer Ko Seung Woo's past comments, asking, "This isn't an investigation, right?" Jung Hyung Don joked back, "You've been through quite a few investigations. You're a pro at this," to which G-Dragon cleverly replied, "Pro? I cleared up misunderstandings."
In November 2023, G-Dragon voluntarily reported to the police amid sudden drug allegations and received a 'no charge' result. His music video for 'POWER' (파워), released after a seven-year hiatus, featured scenes reminiscent of a police lineup, and the lyrics sparked discussions with phrases like 'abuse of power' and 'landmines of one against a hundred.'
G-Dragon noted that he feels more open when he is with Jung Hyung Don, admitting, "I usually don't talk like this." Jung Hyung Don shared a humorous memory from G-Dragon's military service, recalling a desperate phone call where G-Dragon repeatedly called out for him, almost in tears, asking to speak to a senior who was a fan.
G-Dragon acknowledged that the person he was trying to reach was likely a senior, not a peer, and laughed at Jung Hyung Don's detailed recollection of the event. Reflecting on how G-Dragon has matured over the past decade, Jung Hyung Don remarked, "You've become much more seasoned. It seems like you've learned a lot and are developing well. I hope you continue to mature a bit more." G-Dragon humorously countered, "Artists shouldn't mature too much!"
