G-Dragon and Taeyang to Reunite for Charity Concert in France

Big Bang's G-Dragon (지드래곤) and Taeyang (태양) are set to reunite for a special performance at the charity concert 'Collecting Yellow Coins' hosted by France's First Lady Brigitte Macron on January 23. The duo previously captivated audiences with a full Big Bang performance alongside Daesung (대성) at the '2024 MAMA Awards' held at Osaka's Kyocera Dome last year, receiving standing ovations from fellow artists. Fans are eagerly anticipating whether G-Dragon and Taeyang will share the stage again.

In addition to G-Dragon and Taeyang, the concert will feature BLACKPINK's Rosé (로제) and BTS's J-Hope (제이홉), joining an impressive lineup that includes international stars like Katy Perry, John Legend, Kim's, Pretty Yende, and Cotié Capuçon.

The 'Collecting Yellow Coins' event is an annual charity initiative organized by the hospital foundation chaired by Brigitte Macron. Since 1989, the foundation has been collecting small coins, specifically those worth less than 1 euro (approximately 1,400 KRW), to improve the welfare of hospitalized children and adolescents. The fundraising campaign lasts about a month.

Starting in 2023, the concert has also included ticket sales as part of its fundraising efforts. Last year, BLACKPINK performed, while Lisa (리사) and Stray Kids (스트레이키즈) took the stage in 2024. Ticket prices have increased from 15 euros (around 20,000 KRW) in the first year to between 50 and 80 euros (approximately 74,000 to 120,000 KRW) this year. The concert's 35,000 seats sold out immediately when ticket sales began on January 13 at 2 PM, thanks to the star-studded lineup.
