G-Dragon Acknowledges Voice Change After 7-Year Hiatus

G-Dragon, a member of the iconic group BIGBANG, has openly acknowledged a change in his voice. He appeared as a guest on MBC FM4U's 'Starry Night with Kim Ina' on the afternoon of the 18th.
After a hiatus of 7 years and 4 months, G-Dragon made his much-anticipated return with the release of his new track 'POWER' on the 31st of last month. However, some netizens have commented that they noticed a difference in his voice.
In response, Kim Ina noted, "The pronunciation difference between then (during BIGBANG's first album) and now is minimal. His rap style has remained, but the tone of his voice has lowered."
G-Dragon elaborated, saying, "When I record, I do so with a relaxed throat, and as I continue, it naturally changes. It feels like I have gained another voice."
Reflecting on his lengthy break, he expressed, "Time seems to pass more quickly as I get older." He added, "My mind and body feel the same. I usually learn choreography quickly, but I felt like I was falling behind this time."
He also revealed that writing the lyrics for 'POWER' took longer than expected, stating, "It didn’t come together all at once; the melody, however, came quite easily."
Kim Ina praised G-Dragon's lyricism, saying, "You are a master of wordplay. You excel at using homophones and switching between English and Korean effortlessly."
When asked if he plans to create a personal light stick, G-Dragon responded, "I have thought about it," hinting at upcoming concert plans that excited listeners.
Kim Ina humorously urged him to ensure there are plenty of merchandise items for both existing and new fans, saying, "I hope you produce enough goods!"
